A free trade agreement (FTA) commits its parties to cut tariffs on originating goods. Each FTA is implemented in Viet Nam through a Decree on the special preferential import tariff (e.g. ACFTA – 118/2022/NĐ-CP, RCEP – 129/2022/NĐ-CP).
Points to note:
- FTA rates follow a yearly phase-down (some agreements run 1 April – 31 March).
- A rate cell may list non-beneficiary countries, e.g. "0 (-KH)".
- The "*" symbol in FTA schedules marks lines that do not enjoy the agreement's special preferential rate.
- A country may belong to several FTAs (Japan: AJCEP, VJEPA, CPTPP, RCEP) – compare them.
The portal lists every relevant FTA, never auto-selects a single one and never confirms eligibility automatically.
